24 Weeks & 2 Halloween Birthdays

I took my 2nd trimester 1 hour glucose test and I am happy to say my blood is in range! I was worried because my blood wasn't in range 1st trimester. But I'm so glad I don't have to go through a 3 hour glucose test like before. Now I know I can enjoy the holidays with out worrying too much. Of course not over do it ;). Pumpkin & apple pie here I come!

Oliver and I had to switch cars because it's getting harder to get out of my little sports car. I still can't believe I'm this far in my pregnancy. Time is going by so fast. I feel her movements on my right side a lot and I can see my stomach move now. Not just flutters anymore. 10/23/14 is the first time I felt her really kick(or punch) me harder in the stomach and that was in the middle of a conversation with someone.

Cravings? I think brownies again. Violet sure loves brownies! Oh and I love Cheetos. Especially the cheesy puffs. I will kill a bag of those in a second. I love hot Cheetos but I am on a kick with those cheese puffs.

Yay for Halloween and celebrations!

Halloween is next week but we've been invited to a few Halloween birthdays this weekend. One is for an adult and the other a kid LOL. I searched for pregnancy costumes and found a "bun in the oven" costume I thought was so cute! And cheap because you make it! This costume cost me a $1 because I bought the foil at the dollar store and found a box in the garage and printed the knobs and stove tops at work.(shh!)

Oliver's costume was free. He just borrowed a friend's uniform from work.

Birthday # 1
Danric's Birthday. (The one with the blond wig LOL)
I stole this from Carol. I didn't take too many pictures. Of course there was food, beer pong, drinks I couldn't drink and just a lot of fun. It's always fun seeing people in costume.

Birthday #2
The next day.
I also didn't take pictures for this but I'm glad someone did. Maybe pregnancy is making me lazy. This was one of my friend's daughter's 8th birthday who also had a Halloween theme. Even though this was a kid birthday, it was still very fun and so cute. All the kids dressed up, ate, painted their own pumpkin and had a costume contest. I can't wait to do stuff like this for Violet or have her participate in these events.

 Birthday girl is the Scarecrow

Birthday # 3
Later the same day was my mother in law's 60th birthday. Filipino food, games with the cousins in law, and karaoke. I must say we sure ate a lot this day with 2 parties! But I love parties!

Sunday, I don't think I even went outside! It was a very lazy day :) But it was a great weekend.

23 Weeks, a Birthday & Bridal shower

I feel baby move a lot more now. I'm guessing that is how it's going to be for the next 4 months! But it makes me smile :). I did get sick this week :(. It's been a while but I had chocolate flavored cheerios with milk and I guess baby didn't like that too much in the morning. I definitely don't miss those days.

It really seems like the days get shorter and the weeks get shorter because when I think I just finished my weekly update, before I know it I'm doing another update! I also can't believe how fast this year and pregnancy is going. That is something I have learned. I thought when you were pregnant, it seemed like forever but now I know better. The first 12 weeks are the longest though. After that, time just seems to fly.

I usually don't post events too much with birthdays here and there but everyone likes pictures and it's what happened during the week. :) It's nothing really big but my cousin in law Carol had a birthday and we all went out to Korean BBQ for dinner on Friday to celebrate and hung out at a friends house afterwards.

I know some of my relatives back east never had Korean BBQ before but this is what it looks like. You cook your own food LOL. But it's very good. AND all you can eat ;). Baby was happy.

I stole this picture from her. She's next to the guy in yellow :)

The next day we went to a beautiful bridal shower for our friend Anita who's wedding is this December. The shower was held at the matron of honor's house and that alone was nice! The bridesmaids did such an amazing job. We can't wait for the wedding!

Sign in! Write on a Jenga piece and put in a vase. Cute idea!

 The back yard set up

Look at how cute the serving tables were set up!

Mugs with our initial as a party favor.

The bride to be, me and Violet :)

The person with a 'V' name didn't show up so they gave it to me for Violet to. :)

22 Weeks

Not that much news this week except I had my doctor's appointment for a check up. Everything seems to be going well. The baby is growing healthy and the heart beat sounds good. That is always wonderful news. If you read my blog when we found out it was a girl, I mentioned I had a low placenta. Well turns outs that is called placenta previa which means the placenta partially or totally covers the cervix. That means I have to take it easy on exercising and just make sure I'm not bleeding or cramping. So far so good! I still do low impact and haven't had any problems. That also means I have to be on "vaginal rest" until my 28 week ultra sound... I will let you decide what that means... :p

They want to do a 28 week ultrasound to make sure the placenta moved up. The good thing is that the odds are in my favor. I was told 90% of the time, the placenta moves up. Please pray it does!! Other wise if it doesn't, it could be serious and I'd probably need a C-section instead of normal delivery.

I went to the gym and noticed why people looked at me more ... Well obviously the will LOL.

On another note, I feel Violet moving a lot more lately and Oliver felt her for the first time this past weekend. We were just laying in bed and I felt her moving so I took Oliver's hand so he could feel her. :) It's reassuring that she's ok in there when I feel her little movements.

Cravings? Smoothies. I think it's because I watched a raw food channel that made smoothies so I looked up a whole bunch of smoothie recipes on YouTube. I wish I had more of those first trimester since I didn't want to eat anything. That's actually a great alternative to getting veggies and fruits in your diet.

I swear, later on in life I think I might become a vegetarian. And I mean way later. But I have been interested in a plant based diet a lot more lately. But then I see a burger..

21 Weeks, Wedding Anniversary & Baby Moon

October 1, 2014 is actually a milestone for 3 things in my life. 1) It's our 3 year wedding anniversary. 2) It's my 6 year anniversary at work. 3) I hit 21 weeks.

I kid you not, right when I hit 21 weeks, people all at once at work started to ask me if I was pregnant and congratulated me. Not everyone at my company knows because there's different departments, but people are starting to notice a lot more now. It's as if I just popped right when I hit 21 weeks! I make a point to walk for 20 min every day at work and nobody from different departments said anything until this day when they saw me walking around. They probably wanted to make sure I was pregnant and didn't just gain weight! Haha! This week, I ALMOST got sick again. But I've been gagging and nothing coming out. Other than that, I've been doing alright. No specific cravings.

I went to a friends house and got lucky again! She let me pick out a bunch of maternity clothes AND gave me a Boppy! (Preggo pillow) I wanted to invest in one of these but I'm glad to save the money! Don't think I have to buy any maternity clothes either!

Anniversary & Baby Moon in Santa Barbara
We didn't celebrate our anniversary on the actual day because we knew we were going to celebrate on the weekend. We decided to combine our anniversary celebration with our baby moon since we have holidays, and weddings and other events keeping us busy for the rest of the year. So we thought this was perfect timing. We never been to Santa Barbara and heard how nice it was so we decided to make it a nice relaxing vacation.

Relaxing it was! We arrived Saturday afternoon and it was hot! Santa Barbara really is a nice relaxing vacation spot. I have to say, I never felt so safe walking down the street at night or down an alley! Even the alley is nice.We really enjoyed our time there and spending time with each other. Here are some pictures:

First place we went to when we got there was CafĂ© Savoy for lunch. This is the 4th Diners, Drive In's and Dives place we've been to. (We love that show). We were not fans unfortunately. That patty you see is a turkey fritter which is suppose to be popular and was featured on the show.. Well turns out it was premade, not hot, and just ok tasting.. I only had a salad.

After lunch we walked and on the main street, State Street window shopping.

Stearns Wharf

No matter where you go, there will always be homeless people. However, this was clever! There wasn't that many homeless people and mostly saw them at the beach. There were other "games" like this to.

Such a beautiful view

Checked out the Maritime museum

Panoramic view of the pier

Went to a restaurant called Jane later that night. It was very cute and very good!

Probably the best mushroom soup I've ever tasted.

My handsome husband <3

Sunday Morning we decided to go to the beach before it got too hot.

We had lunch and then went to the museum. Sorry didn't take pics of the food.. but it was really good Mexican food!

We went back to our hotel and rested for a while and then got ready to go on our Anniversary/Baby Moon date. We went to a French restaurant a friend recommended to us called Bouchon. This was such a cute place and the food was very good.

I got salmon with polenta and veggies. I forgot what Oliver got LOL

Molten Lava Cake.. YUM!

Monday was time to leave and back to our regular lives but we decided to do a pit stop at Venice Beach. As long as I've lived in California, I have never been here, neither has Oliver so it was both our first time going there.

That shop is exactly what it looks like.

Weather was perfect! And there was a lot of ... interesting people to. ;)

Last but definitely not least, I am 95% sure I am feeling Violet move around in my stomach! It feels like someone poking you in the stomach with their finger lightly and also that gas feeling but this time I know it's not gas LOL! Definitely makes me smile and I can't wait to feel her even more when she gets bigger.
