32 Weeks & Life Events

I actually had heart burn for the first time this week. I didn't know what it felt like until I described it to Oliver. I thought it felt like a burning sensation but it really feels like your chest hurts. I've only had it that one time and didn't have it again.
I'm actually doing well and the only thing I can complain about is that stupid cramp feeling in my upper left side stomach and bending over. I do feel like I have to lay back more sitting because I feel like my belly is just more squished when I sit forward. I started to have that feeling where I feel baby is pressing my bladder! So even more bathroom trips! Can it really get worse? The feeling is like "I have to pee! No I dont.. Yes I do!"
Cravings? I would have to say Pho. We had it this week and I actually want it again! LOL.

For the holidays, we decided to keep it simple and practical. Also personal. I think those are the best gifts anyway. What I did was make a goodie bag to give out with desserts. It included fudge, dipped pretzels, butter cookies ( didn't come out as expected) and apple butter! I found this recipe for apple butter and thought it would be perfect to make. I'm still perfecting it but hope those who got it enjoy it.

Got this from my coworker and thought this was really neat. I never got a real mistletoe before!

Life Events in One Day

On December 7th, Oliver's uncle Rudy passed away from battling cancer. He was diagnosed with peripheral T-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma, an aggressive, fast-growing type. I never really got to know him and only met him a few times but from going to his viewing and funeral, I wish I did get to know him better. From what everyone said, he was full of life. He loved life, family, God, FOOD, and dancing. We were all messaged with his updates about him going to chemo and it worked for a little while and was released. A few months later, the cancer came back and he decided to go into hospice. He was content with that decision. Shortly after he passed away. I pray for his family and may he rest in peace. I didn't take any pictures but I saw this and thought it expressed how special he was.

Anita & Hau's Big Day
Talk about a day full of events! The funeral was the same day as our friend's wedding. We went to the funeral before and drove to the wedding after. I don't think we ever went to a funeral and wedding on the same day.
We actually were looking forward to this wedding because Anita & Hau have been together I think for about 12 years and they finally tied the knot! They met in college, traveled, focused on their careers and bought a house. Now they are husband and wife! Congrats you 2! We're so happy for you both!

The ceremony was at Cal State University Long Beach in a beautiful Japanese Garden.

How cute are the programs?!

Reception was at The Hilton in Costa Mesa. I think they had 500 guest at the wedding! Almost as big as my company Christmas party!

The reception was traditional Chinese style dining. For weddings, they have a lazy Susan and everyone at the table shares dishes. Family Style.

Congrats Hau & Anita!

31 Weeks, Shower & Parties

Baby is still rolling around in there! Monday I was a little worried in the morning because she wasn't moving as much but then she started back up again later. I hate to say this but I fell :(. Thank God it was not on my stomach or any impact on my stomach. I was walking across the street going on one of my walks and in the middle of the road I lost my balance and fell on my knee and hands and my hip hit the ground. I scraped my knee and hand but I'd take that over falling on my stomach. I was a little worried but baby seemed to be fine. She was actually moving a lot more afterwards and I was ok to. Not dizzy, or bleeding or anything. I called the doctor to go to check if I should go in and they said things should be ok but to go in for a non stress test just to make sure. Well that didn't happen because I'd have to drive all the way to San Diego after work and it's raining. Besides I have an appointment the next day. I will update that next week.

I catch myself waddle more! And then I try to stop. Bathroom breaks are frequent but I am enjoying my pregnancy so far. :)

Last week my co-workers threw me a baby shower at work and Oliver came. It was a lot of fun and it was so so so nice of them to do that for me. I really appreciate every one of my coworkers. It's nice to see they are very excited to meet Violet.

How cute is this cake!

With Stacy. She helped throw our shower and made the cake!

They all pitched in for our car seat and stroller. They are just the best.

Friday we had our department Christmas party at our CFO's house. That was a change in scenery but it was also a lot of fun and very cozy! Games, prizes, and Olive Garden Catered.

Ok so for this game, it's kind of like the bridal shower game where you try to make a dress out of toilet paper. Well this time we did it trying to make someone a snowman. Of course I got picked to be the snowman with my belly but it won us $5 gift cards to Starbucks!!

I felt very silly.

Saturday was our Annual Company Holiday Party and we usually have it at La Costa Resort but this time it was in down town San Diego which was a nice change and we also had fun. I didn't take pictures unfortunately but I got this one!

Thanks to my sister and brother in law, they shipped us a box full of baby clothes for Violet. She just had a baby girl a few months ago and they already do not fit her. They grow up so fast! Thanks a lot Kim and Toan!

30 Weeks & A Full Weekend

I have to admit, I am getting more nervous this week. I know I only have about 9 weeks to go. Things that make me nervous is delivering early and the other thing I'm worried about is being prepared and having our health insurance change January 1st.  I just want to make sure things get transitioned as smoothly as possible considering my due date would be the next month. I am not having a hard time sleeping yet but I do have to use the restroom a lot more! So I will wake up around midnight or 2am. I know that is expected at this time in my pregnancy.

One day this week I started to feel winded or dizzy so I laid on the couch for a few minutes. That was from doing squats! LOL. I will do squats almost every day just to keep my legs strong and I never got that reaction before. So when I was laying down, I started to get emotional and cry! Over what? I don't know. I just felt like I needed to let out a good cry. Maybe it was from all the worries. That's hormones for you! I don't think I ever cried for no reason.

Cravings: Donuts and spiced cider! Spiced cider because I always want that during the holidays and donuts, because well... they're donuts. LOL.

I am getting along just fine though. I enjoy having Violet in my belly :). She rolls around in there a lot. I'm already in love with her and makes me wonder how protective I'm going to be when she arrives.

 Weekend full of celebrations!

If I haven't said it before I will say it now. I love the company that I work for. They really do spoil us. Friday was our 'Profit Share' (Bonus Day) and each department gets creative with their theme. Ours was "The Money Team" We had to dress gangster because they would lease expect our department to be that way!

My boss with the security guys.

Saturday was a Christmas party but a pajama party with friends. We did a Secret Santa and White Elephant. We also beat the guys twice at Pictionary. ;)

Here's what Oliver and I got for our White Elephant Gift LOL.

Sunday was very busy. Full day of babies! My friend's daughter turned one. How time flies! First I went to her daughter's birthday and it turned out really nicely! Adalyn is a doll.

Later that day I went to San Diego, for one of my good friends welcome home party/ baby shower. Dianne and her husband has been in Ireland for 2 years and she brought back a precious little girl Isabella. I was so excited to see them! I'm so happy now that she's back!

We finally got the Christmas tree up! My mom doesn't 'do' fake Christmas trees LOL. She likes the real thing. I can see why she enjoys it so much because of the smell and it's fresh. Me on the other hand, I'd rather buy a fake one with the lights in tacked and save money. But we love it.

I'm so happy the holidays are here but hate that they go by so fast! But I know it will be extra special next year with Violet to celebrate with.
