28 Weeks -Third Trimester

I cannot believe I entered third trimester already! How is time flying by so fast? I was hoping to stay in second trimester a little longer LOL!
This week was interesting. Had my ultra sound and looks like I don't have placenta previa anymore! What a relief. That means my placenta went up and wont have to do a C-section. At least for that reason. My aunts also mentioned they think it's a boy. Well I confirmed with the doctor, that yes it indeed is still a girl. So she is still Violet :).

I had to miss work for a few days because I was one of the lucky ones to be picked as a juror for a trial when I had to go on jury duty. It was an interesting case and luckily it only lasted for 3 days. The only downside was coming to work with tons of work waiting for me. But that's an easy fix. Now I can say I was a juror in a trial and hopefully they don't call me for another 3 years LOL.

Cravings? I have to say donuts. My best friend told me about a donut place by my work that makes cronuts and the best blueberry donuts. I had to have it. I got the cronut in the middle of the week and found out blueberry donuts are only made Fridays and weekends. So I'm still waiting for that. Oh and McDonald's French fries LOL. That's because I had a few bites of my brothers. I got tempted to go late at night and get some but I figure I shouldn't.

Symptoms? Lower back pain :(. I feel like an old lady walking sometimes. Maybe I should start up that yoga again. Violet I swear is dancing in my belly! I feel her movements even more. But I love every minute of it. :)

 Here's our little squishy!

She moves so much but this time I think she was sleeping. You can see her face and her hand by her face.

I also got a package from my grandpa. Stuffed animals from when I was a kid and 2 Barbie Dolls that they told me about when I was a kid that they would give to me when I was older. If you look closely, they are 1988 and 1989 editions.

Next week we plan to re-arrange our bedroom to make room for a crib. At this rate I might as well start packing my hospital bag. I can't believe how fast time is going.

27 Weeks and A Few Birthdays

Had my check up this week and everything is still going smoothly! Baby is still moving a lot and was told to start keeping track of the kicks. Heartbeat is still at 150 and was told I am gaining weight normally and blood pressure is normal. I was told my results from my last glucose test was I was borderline anemic and should start taking iron pills. So that is what I'm taking with my multi vitamin and folic acid everyday. It's harder to get up from the bed or couch now and I still make sure to walk every day or at least almost every day LOL.

My 31st birthday was Thursday, Nov. 14th and I still wanted to celebrate even a little bit because this was going to be my last birthday with out a baby. I know having Violet will make it more special next year though. :)

My aunt Brenda in Alabama sent me a nice surprise at work! African Violets! Thank you so much Aunt Brenda! This is so sweet and very thoughtful!

The day before my actual birthday I had a girls dinner at an Italian restaurant.(My favorite food) and wanted to check out this restaurant called Ciao because I heard really good reviews. It did not disappoint. Portions were huge but it was very very good and I'm glad to have my girlfriends join me. :). Thank you girls for the presents! I have a lot of desserts! And because I have been craving brownies, they remembered and got me brownies and brownie mix LOL.

On my actual day, I wanted it to be relaxing. I had the idea to just watch TV and be lazy in bed. That's exactly what I did.

I still went to work though and came to this. They also got me some apple pie LOL.

If you're familiar with Nothing Bundt Cakes, I suggest you sign up to get their emails. You get special coupons and even get a free mini Bundt cake on your birthday! So I stopped by and got one. I love their cakes!

I got pumpkin. Seemed appropriate for November.

Friday we went to see the play Wicked. This was a birthday present to myself because I always wanted to see it. It was a great show! I just wish I wasn't dosing off in the first half! I'm use to going to sleep early and I was so sleepy! I'm glad they had intermission and I got refreshed and woke up. Oliver had the same problem but we both enjoyed the show! I would definitely like to see it again.

Saturday was my brother's 19th birthday. Me and him are 2 days apart. He wanted to have a party at home so we had tons of food, a DJ, and some dancing. I think the older crowd took advantage of the DJ more than my brother's friends did though but it was still fun.

Wouldn't be a Filipino party with out a buffet!

Next week I will hit 3rd trimester! I can't believe it's going by so fast!

26 Weeks & "Friendsgiving"

This week baby was moving all over the place! Not just one kick here but 2 kicks at the same time. I always feel her on my right side still so I'm assuming her head is on my left side. Update on my exercise.. I only been walking LOL. I think I make excuses not to do other things when I get home because I'm going to the store, or I'm too tired etc. And I usually will make an effort to work out.
Other than that, just taking it day by day and enjoying her in my belly before she comes out to the World. :)

"Friendsgiving" 2014

My friend Janassa decided to do a Thanksgiving get together with all the friends before we celebrate with our family. This turned out very nicely and everyone brought a dish or even 2! Everything came out delicious.

To me, this is my ideal dinner party set up. Especially Thanksgiving. We usually go to a lot of parties that are potlucks and you sit anywhere but those are always fun to. It's just that there's too many people to do a set up like this. But this was perfect.

The spread! Everyone did such a good job! I brought the green bean casserole and made a pumpkin roll. Sorry I didn't get dessert pictures.

Baby Violet is happy and full.

25 Weeks, Halloween and a Wedding

According to website timelines it looks like I am in the 6 month mark! Where has time gone? I know I will be asking myself that once Violet is born. So I am cherishing every movement she makes in my belly.

I'm pretty sure I got contractions right at 25 weeks and when I found out what they felt like, I'm pretty sure that was it or Braxton hicks. They feel like cramps. I also realized how much time I have left at this moment. 14 weeks only. That is nothing! I'm trying to prepare myself and make sure I have my papers to leave work for maternity leave. It's overwhelming and confusing to me right now but I'll manage. The past few days I've done prenatal yoga and it feels good to stretch out and very relaxing. My goal is to keep doing this and if not all the time, at least pregnancy exercises.

Also, thank you Michelle for all the baby stuff! I received a shopping cart cushion, wipe warmer, bouncer, bath seat, and some other stuff. This helps a lot!

Yay for Halloween! I have to say it was hard to focus at work considering this year it's on a Friday and everyone wants to see how everyone dressed. I did my bun in the oven costume again and everyone loved it! Some people from different departments came in because they heard they had to see my costume. I dressed up mainly because I wanted to win the costume contest and if that is a gift card, that helps with baby stuff!

Later after work I went trick o treating with my best friend, god son and his brother. These kids are so fun to be around with and so funny! :) They had fun and I did to but I felt bad because I cut their trick o treating short because I was tired from an hour of walking! I wore my stove to and I did get compliments on them. Some kids got mistaken saying I was a washing machine or a robot LOL. I have to admit though, I felt ridiculous at first because when we first started there wasn't that many people out yet and I was wearing a costume :p. But then I got over it. Over all it was a good night.

The next day was our friend's Arty and Erin's Wedding Day! We've known them for quite a while and was there when they first started dating. We were looking forward to this day and what a day it was! It was simple but beautiful and was at Journey at Pechanga Casino and Resort in Temecula.

Congrats Erin & Arty! We're very happy for you both!
