Oh Baby!...An Exciting New Chapter

I know it's been a while since I updated this blog. I actually even considered cancelling it because most people are on Facebook and although our lives are busy and social I thought updates to parties and social gatherings would get old quick, therefore, no updates until now..

Oliver was with me when I took this test and we were both so excited! I don't think I've ever seen Oliver smile so big besides our wedding day! We didn't want to get our hopes up too high until I went to the doctors and confirmed it. Sure enough, the nurse said, "Congratulations, you're 4 1/2 weeks pregnant." :)

We only told close friends and family and even that I thought was too many to tell too soon! Father's Day was around the corner and we thought that was perfect timing to tell our dad's they're going to be grandpa's so that's what we did :). Nothing unique. Our parents are very happy and excited and it makes us even more excited! My mom mentioned she was wondering when would we start having babies because I was getting old.... -_-.. Thanks mom.

Week 5

I am starting to feel real nauseous but not throw up. (Hello morning sickness!) I don't have an appetite. I don't even want coffee! And I love coffee! Nothing sounds good... Well watermelon does. The thought of chicken makes me even more sick so I have not been doing well with the protein. Once I bring myself to eat something, I don't want it again and wonder how did I eat that with out throwing up? I'm picky with food right now.  I've been drinking ginger tea, ginger ale, and 7 up and that seems to help but I don't want to drink too much soda. I don't drink soda that much but one day I started sipping on 7 Up at 10 in the morning. That drink lasted me until 5 pm, but it helped! I get sleepy earlier.. maybe its the coffee withdrawals or ..pregnancy .. or both.. who knows!

Week 6

I still feel nauseous especially in the mornings but I noticed my appetite has gotten better later in the week. I'm still picky but I can stomach more things now. Thinking of seafood or battered fish tacos make me sick now. Why do I think of these if they make me feel nauseous? Maybe I'm hoping to get over it. I forgot to mention I do still try to work out but mostly walking. I do low impact and go to the gym.

Week 7 & 8.

Ok I will stop my weekly here and wait to surprise you all. I think I see a bump! Or is it because I just ate? This week I was a little paranoid. 4th of July ends up in week 7. We went to our friends for a BBQ and the next day a crawfish dinner. I didn't eat the crawfish.  A good handful of people where there that didn't know I was pregnant. I was careful not to slip or hoped nobody noticed I wasn't drinking wine! I still feel nauseous all the time. It's gotten to that point where I actually do vomit. I'm also more tired and sleepy! I actually took a nap! (I don't do naps.) I don't drink coffee still but I have a few sips of Oliver's coffee during the weekends LOL. The weeks are going by slow because we can't wait to announce in 4 weeks!

9 Weeks :)

Week 12
(Finally!)

YES! We can officially announce our pregnancy and I can publish this blog post! This has been the longest 12 weeks in my life. I really really REALLY hope the morning sickness and nausea goes away.  We're so excited to share the news with EVERYONE this time!
