20 Weeks

Wow I can't believe I am half way there! It seems like this pregnancy is going by faster than I thought. I still remember when I first found out we were pregnant and I couldn't wait to announce to the whole world! Nothing really big to announce this week besides that. I don't have any specific cravings right now. I am wearing maternity jeans and pants but can still fit into a few of my regular pants. If I don't wear those I'm in maxi dresses or skirts.

Yep..Nothing that interesting except we finally went to an Italian café I've been wanting to try that was on the show Diner's Drive In's and Dives. This will be our 3rd restaurant we tried from the show! We love that show LOL. The place is called Spirito's in Carlsbad and we loved it. It was crowded and it will be a regular place.

Look at the size of the meatballs! This was suppose to be 1 serving so we split it.

Saturday morning I wanted to get up early and get some Mexican bread to eat with my coffee.. So I guess that is a craving for the week LOL. But I've been wanting to do that before I got pregnant so I did.

I know it's not that exciting of a blog this time but everyone likes food pictures right? :)

Things I'm excited about:

To hold Violet. It will be a little while but I feel like I miss her and can't wait to hold her. <3 We love her soooo much already... Our precious Violet.

Our 3 year wedding anniversary is already here on Wednesday and we'll be going to Santa Barbara to celebrate. That will also be our little baby moon!

I do have to mention, it has been getting cooler and I am so excited. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE fall and the holidays! I will always make it special especially for Violet next year. That is something to look forward to.

19 Weeks

I don't usually say this or confess this but I'm so in love with my husband. Even more now that I see how excited he is to become a father. He'll kiss my belly and say hi or talk to the baby. I think it's so cute and such a sweet thing. Oliver has always been such a sweet heart, ever since we started dating and he has been ever since.

ANYWAY..lol.. Obviously my stomach is getting bigger and I'm excited about squishy growing. My craving for ravioli has been satisfied. I noticed I am not a big meat fan lately. I'd rather have carbs, sweets, veggies or fruits. I broke the habit of not going to the gym. First day back after 2 weeks and it felt good. It was like my body was happy it was getting a work out other than walking at work. I know it's only 2 weeks but when you're so use to going all the time, 2 weeks seems like forever.

So this week we found out the gender and it's a baby girl!!

I've heard a lot of people say they thought it was a girl. My mom was disappointed because she could have sworn it was a boy. She was disappointed because she was wrong. .. moms...

Here she is!

Her name is Violet

She says she's #1

Violet was giving the radiologist a hard time to take pictures because she moved so much! But the radiologist said that is a sign of a healthy baby! And I couldn't ask for anything more. Oliver came with me and I know he had his hopes for a boy but he was still happy and happy that the baby was healthy. We could watch that ultrasound all day. It's just amazing seeing your baby in your stomach. The radiologist said everything looked good. 10 fingers, 10 toes, 2 arms, 2 legs and feet. We even saw and heard that little precious heart beat. She mentioned my placenta was low but that could change and I had a lot of time for that to change. Not sure what that means. She didn't make a big deal out of it, so I decided not to worry about it.

We can't wait to meet our baby girl!

18 Weeks

This week has been good to me. My nausea is non existent at this point! The only time I do feel sick is when I'm really full. Some things still make me gag though. (Fish Tacos or beer battered fish. BLAH!!) The weirdest thing is fillet-O-fish from McDonald's always sounds good to me or raw sushi. But beer battered fish? Maybe it's the batter. It's very weird and I usually like fish tacos. I'm very picky about fish with this pregnancy right now.

I am starting to look more pregnant now. But I feel like I'm at that awkward stage where people don't know if I gained weight or hesitant to ask if I am pregnant. I haven't gone to the gym in 2 weeks and I'm going to break that habit soon. I make sure I walk every day but I feel like I could do more.

I decided to go dark brown for three reasons: 1. Fall is coming. 2. I'm ready for a change. 3. Most of my time will go to the baby and probably wont have time to keep going back every few months to touch up my roots.
I've had that light brown/cinnamon color for over 2 years and I loved it but I'm loving my dark hair right now :) Especially now my makeup and eyes stand out more. ;)

Like last week's post, cravings are taking over. I was satisfied with my brownies but wasn't quite finished with that craving! So I made some from scratch at home! They turned out pretty good to!

I am currently craving some good ravioli. I haven't had any yet so hopefully you get to see it on next week's post LOL. Oh!! And by next week, we should know the gender! We're so excited and can't wait to find out! ;)

17 Weeks

Looks like my stomach grew big time! I've noticed that I have not gotten sick or gagged this week! Which probably means it's slowing down! Thank God! The only time I feel like that now is when I eat too much. Cravings are coming in full effect now! My recent craving was a cinnamon sugar pretzel you get at the mall and Arby's cheddar sandwich. Then I NEEDED brownies. That was a whole other story in itself. All of those cravings have been satisfied ;).

I went out and got my first baby purchase!

Figure I start out early with the cocoa butter and buying diapers here and there every pay period. Good thing about Target is if the diapers are the wrong size you can switch them with no problem. 50 diapers for $6 bucks ain't bad!
I got lucky! I was getting ready to get some maternity clothes but my old supervisor handed me down some of her maternity pants and a dress! I was excited because first of all, she dresses the best in our department! She's quite the corporate fashionista and I also got to save on buying pants.

Monday, 9/8/14 is when I had my next doctor's appointment, and this is when I THOUGHT we found out the baby's gender but we have to wait another 2 weeks. We listened to the baby's heart beat again and the doctor said it was kicking! Listening to your baby's heart beat I believe is one of the most precious things you could ever hear. <3

16 Weeks & A Wedding

Right when I hit 16 weeks, I made myself a cup of coffee. I haven't done that in 15 weeks. My stomach was so sensitive and coffee is acidic so I didn't even want to go near it. But now I'm ok. One cup of coffee is ok and that is usually what I drink anyway. I probably won't drink coffee everyday like I usually do.  Unfortunately I STILL get sick but at random times. I hope it's not like this with the whole pregnancy.

Wedding in Oregon

One of our friends got married this past weekend and a good handful of us flew out for the event. We arrived Friday evening and the wedding wasn't until Sunday so we decided to be tourist in Portland for the next few days. Portland I noticed has a lot of hippies LOL. The weather wasn't that great but we still had fun. Oliver and I shared a room with our friends Hung and Marie and that cut hotel cost a ton!

Friday we just grabbed something to eat and Oliver went out with the guys while I stayed with Marie that night. Good thing we didn't go out because I got sick... Again.. But the guys came back with Voodoo donuts! If you don't know, this is a very popular donut place in Portland. Every time we passed by this place, there was a line outside.

These were good even after 2 days LOL.

We found out there is always a street market on Saturdays so we thought that would be nice to check out during the day.

Later we met with the our friends to grab something to eat. We went to Frank's Noodle House which is a really neat and popular place (Especially since it was on the show Diners, Drive Ins and Dives!). They make their own noodles and I thought this place was delicious.  They made an old house into a restaurant and we were seated upstairs in one of the old bedrooms.

Stole this pic!

Sunday
I have been wanting to go to this popular ice cream shop in Portland called Salt and Straw. They have different flavors like pear and blue cheese, strawberry balsamic and black pepper, etc. I tried those and they were actually good!

This is what we got:
Almond brittle with salted ganache, coffee and bourbon, apricots with citra hops, peaches with toasted walnuts. All were very good!

After our stop for ice cream, we were on our way to the wedding in Cannon Beach. The outskirts of Oregon is beautiful and reminds me a lot of Alabama!

We went to the vacation house of the bride and groom because it was still early and they had a gorgeous view of the ocean! We caught up with the groom and took pictures before heading down to the beach where the ceremony was being held.

If you've seen the movie The Goonies before, which I'm sure most my age have, you will recognize the Haystack rock!
